Merafe, a major ferro chrome producer in South Africa, released the European benchmark’s ferro chrome prices at 152 cents/lb for Q2CY’24, marking a 5.6% (8 cents/lb) q-o-q hike. The increase in prices might be attributed to a supply shortage resulting from production cuts caused by electricity supply issues in South Africa.
