The European Union (EU) steel association EUROFER has forecast a growth of 3.2% and 1.7% in CY’22 and CY’23, respectively, in nominal steel consumption volumes.
However, EUROFER’s forecast for CY’21 was revised down by 1 mnt to 147 mn t owing to increasing power cost amid global supply chain disturbances and decarbonisation-induced inflation.
