Europe: Germany’s RWE to restart 3 coal-fired power plants

German power generator RWE is set to restart three coal-fired power plants in a bid to ensure sufficient capacity in winters. The three units have a total capacity of 886 megawatt (MW) wherein Neurath C has 292 MW capacity, while Niederaussem E and F has 295 MW and 299 MW, respectively. This additional capacity will counterbalance sky-high energy prices in the country.
