Europe: France faces power shortage in winter as several nuclear fleets are off-line

Nuclear power operator, Electricite de France has warned against a power shortfall in France as half of its 56 existing nuclear reactors have been off the grid and undergoing maintenance. As of mid-Nov’22, only 31 out of 56 nuclear reactors were operating. The country has one of the biggest nuclear fleets in Europe, providing 70% of its electricity demand.
