The Odisha State Pollution Control Board (OSPCB) has conducted a Public Hearing at Koira on Thursday (26th Sep) in connection with enhancement of production capacity from 1.5 MTPA to 4 MTPA at the Koira Iron Ore Mines and setting up of a 1.2 MnTPA Pellet Plant at Nuagaon by Essel Mining and Industries Limited (EMIL), an Aditya Birla Group Company has been concluded peacefully and successfully.
The public hearing, where more than 1000 villagers have participated has been accomplished under the Chairmanship of Shri Rabindra Nath Mishra, ADM, Rourkela in the presence of Shri Niranjan Mallick, Regional Officer, State Pollution Control Board (RKL), Shri Ramakant Nayak, Sub-collector, Bonai, Shri Basudev Naik, Tahasildar, Koira, Shri Vimsen Choudhry, the Local MLA, Shri Janardan Dehuri, former MLA, the respective Sarapanchas, ward members, block members etc.
Appreciating the local area developmental work being carried out by EMIL, the public in general have proposed to give employment preference to the local youths befitting to their qualification and skills during the meeting.
