SAIL conducted an auction for 4,000 t steel grade pig iron today from its Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP). Entire quantity got booked at INR 22,700-23,000/t against the last auction held on 29 Jun, which was settled at INR 22,700-900/t EXW. The auction received good response due to shortage of material in eastern India along with competitive offers. Sources reported that a Jajpur based mill is selling pig iron to neighbouring states at INR 23,000/t EXW.
