Egypt’s leading steelmaker Ezz Steel has reported 17% decline in its steel sales during Jan-Jun’20 to 2.09 mn t as compared to 2.53 mn t in H1 CY’19. Long steel sales volume totaled 1.55 mn t (less by 22% y-o-y) and flat steel at 537,000 t (down by 2% y-o-y). Ezz Steel is the largest independent steel producer in the Middle East and North Africa, and the Egyptian market leader, with a total actual capacity of 7 mn t pa.
