TATA Metaliks, one of the major pig iron producers in eastern India has kept prices unchanged despite surged steel prices. Offers for basic grade pig iron is reported at INR 31,300/t & for Foundry grade at INR 33,200/t exw Kharagpur, eastern India. Meanwhile, offers by mid-sized plants have remained strong & stood at INR 30,200-400/t in Durgapur & Jajpur, exw for steel grade. There are assumptions that pig iron demand may remain supported on account of tight scrap supply globally.
