An eastern India (Odisha) based pellet maker has recently concluded an export deal for around 55,000 MT for regular grade pellets ( containing 3% alumina). According to the sources, the deal has been concluded at around USD 150/MT, CFR South Korea.
Few Indian pellet exporters mentioned that sentiments in Indian pellet export market are still quite strong amid demand from overseas buyers. Assessment for regular grade Indian pellets containing 3% alumina to be exported to China is around USD 150-152/MT, CFR.
Last week an eastern India (Odisha) based pellet maker- Brahmani River Pellets (BRPL) concluded a pellet export deal for around 55,000 MT for regular grade pellets (2.7% Alumina). According to the sources, the deal was concluded at USD 154/MT, CFR China for September shipments.
Spot pellet premium fell marginally – Spot pellet premium for Fe 65% grade pellets has moved down this week and is assessed at USD 88.9/DMT, CFR China, down by USD 0.65/DMT W-o-W against USD 89.5/DMT last week.

According to data maintained with SteelMint, Indian pellet exports were recorded at 2.84 MnT, out of which South Korea was 2nd largest destination after China. South Korea imported 215,000 MT pellets from India during Apr-Aug’18.
