Bhubaneswar: The Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC) of the Union Environment and Forest Ministry will consider the proposal of NMDC’s 4.0 MnT pa iron ore beneficiation plant and 150 km slurry pipeline project on 28th of this month.
The 4.0 mtpa iron ore beneficiation plant is proposed to set at Bacheli complex in Dantewada Distrct and the 150 km pipeline project will be laid from Bacheli to Nagarnar. The company will source raw material (iron ore fines) from its iron ore mining projects in Bacheli complex. The estimated cost of the project is INR 15.95 bn out of which INR 8.02 bn will be spent for the ore processing plant and INR 5 bn will be spent for the pipeline project. The company plans to commission the project within 3 years from the grant of all the statutory clearances.
On the other hand ,the EAC will also consider the proposal of Monnet Ispat ltd regarding capacity expansion of iron ore pellet plant from 1.2 mtpa to 2.2 mtpa within the existing 1.75 integrated steel plant located at Raigarh District of Chhattisgarh.
