The Association of power producer India is a body representing major power producers like Tata Power ,Reliance Power and Adani Power have filed their petitioned to planning commission and power ministry over the concern that 80% of country’s power plant are likely to default on coal shortage. Power Companies have been facing environmental issues in their captive coal blocks and this is restricting the supply of coal and if the situation remains long then it might further worsen the situation and affect the financial sector as well. Domestic Coal production has come down by 32%, which is also leading to a reduction in production of other minerals.
