Indian Semis offers rise over increased demand amid rise in raw material prices, Sponge iron offers rise by INR 200-500/MT & Billet upto INR 700/MT D-o-D.
SteelMint’s latest price assessment for induction furnaces billet in Indian market stood at INR 33,600-37,300/MT (USD 480-533) ex-plant.
Further, the coal based sponge (78-80 FeM) C-DRI price assessment was at INR 20,800-24,100/MT (USD 297-345); prices are ex-plant & excluding GST.
Rupee & BSE Sensex
— On 22nd August 2018 (Wednesday) INR to USD exchange rate stood at INR 69.85
— BSE Sensex closed at 38,285(+7) on Wednesday, as against last day (Tuesday) at 38,285(+7).
Raw Materials
— Today, NMDC (C.G.) has increased iron ore prices by INR 140-170/MT. Baila lump(Fe 65%)- INR 3,350/MT; Baila fines(Fe 64%)- INR 2960/MT; DR CLO(Fe 67%)- INR 3,890/MT & ROM(Fe 65%)- INR 3,090/MT (Royalty, DMF & other taxes extra).
— Imported scrap offers to India for HMS 1&2 (80:20) Dubai origin containers stood at around USD 333/MT, CFR Nhava Sheva, Offers down by USD 1-2/MT W-o-W
— India imported 485,466 MT ferrous scrap in June’18, up marginally by 4% Y-o-Y against 466,382 MT scrap imports recorded in May’18.
— South African RB2 (5500 NAR) coal offers are assessed at USD 84/MT on FoB basis & USD 98/MT CNF India. Prices decline by USD 3-5/MT in a month trade activities.
— Local manufacturers in Raigarh are offering 60-14 Silico Manganese at around INR 65,000/MT ex-plant.
Semi Finished
— Indian sponge iron export offers to Bangladesh price assessment for lumps of grade FeM 78-80, recorded at USD 350/MT CPT Benapole (dry land port of Bangladesh & India) and USD 370/MT CFR Chittagong, Bangladesh.
— Raipur, Central India based Integrated plants offers increased by INR 200/MT, offering Sponge P-DRI at INR 22,200-22,300/MT & Sponge DR CLO grade at INR 25,200-25,400/MT ex-plant.
— Raigarh based Singhal Steel offered P-DRI at INR 22,200/MT ex-Raigarh, an official reported. Also, the company offered Billets at INR 34,300/MT FoR Raipur.
— Bhaskar Steel and Ferro Alloy Ltd, an Odisha based plant offered FeM 80 C-DRI at INR 22,900/MT & billet at INR 33,700/MT ex-plant.
— BIOP Steels in South India has offered FeM 80 & 82 C-DRI lumps at INR 21,200/MT & 21,700/MT ex-plant, Karnataka; an official reported. And added trade activities average at the offer prices.
— BMM Ispat, a renowned sponge manufacturer offering FeM 80 P-DRI lumps at INR 20,000-20,100/MT ex-Bellary, Karnataka.
Finish Long
— Central region, Raipur based brand – SPEED TMT has increased their price by INR 400/MT on day basis and current offering at INR 35,600/MT (28 mm), ex-work & excluding GST.
— Jalna based rebar manufacturer – SRJ Peety Steels Pvt Ltd branding Shree Om TMT increased their (28 mm) rebar prices to INR 35,800/MT, ex-work & excluding GST.
— East region based – Baba Smelter Pvt. Ltd has unchanged their Structure offers on day basis & current (125,150 Channel) offering at INR 39,750/MT, ex-work, excluding GST.
–. Shakti Ferro Alloys in Chennai, South region has kept unchanged Rebar prices at INR 40,000/MT (12 mm) and Billet INR 35,500/MT with immediate payment term, ex-work & excluding GST.
— South India – Chennai based ARS Trusteel reported unchanged prices against last day trades. The current offers for Rebar 12 MM at INR 41,500/MT, ex-plant & excluding GST.
— Central region (Raipur) based Kamdhenu TMT currently offer (28 mm) rebar at INR 37,200/MT, ex-work & excluding GST.
— The suppliers in Raipur have increased trade discount on Wire rod and current discount range at INR 600-700/MT
