According to the data released by WSA (World Steel Association), the total crude steel production of 66 steel manufacturing countries have registered a fall of 3.60% in Jul’16 at 134 MnT against previous month of Jun’16.
If Y-o-Y comparison is done, then the same has fallen by 2.58% in Jul’16 against Jul’15.
From Jan-Jul’16, the same is recorded at 793 MnT against 814 MnT in corresponding period of 2015.
Here we have analyzed the crude steel production numbers of key countries such as China, India, Japan, and Korea.
India
In Jul’16, India’s crude steel production moved up by 3.72% against previous month and stood at 8.08 MnT. Whereas, if Y-o-Y comparison is done, the same has increased by 5.75% in Jul’16 against Jul’15.
For first seven months of of 2016 from Jan-Jul, India’s crude steel production stands at 54.46 MnT against 52.84 MnT in corresponding period of previous year.
China
In Jul’16, China’s crude steel production is recorded at 66.81 MnT against 69.47 MnT in Jun’16. The same has registered an increase of 1.63% against Jul’15.
In first seven months of 2016, country’s crude steel output is recorded at 467.92 MnT which stood at 473.65 MnT in corresponding period of year 2015.
Japan
In Jul’16, Japan’s crude steel production registered an increase of 1.48% against previous month and stood at 8.89 MnT. However, the same has increased marginally by 0.57% against Jul’15.
From Jan to Jul’16, Japan’s total crude steel production stands at 60.94 MnT against 61.43 MnT in corresponding period of previous year.
Korea
Korea’s crude steel output in Jul’16 stood at 6.10 MnT up by 11.51% against Jun’16. If Y-o-Y comparison is done, Korea’s crude steel production Jul’16 has registered an increase of 3.04% against Jul’15.
In Jan-Jul 2016, Korea’s crude steel production stood at 39.45 MnT against 40.49 MnT in corresponding period of 2015.
