Colombia’s coal output may increase by 10% y-o-y in CY22

Colombia’s higher price realisations are expected to boost the country’s production to 65.3 mnt, up 10% y-o-y, as per the Colombian Mining Association (ACM). ACM also added that the Colombian mining sector may have record export value in CY22. The forecast export value is $22.16 bn and royalties from mining are expected at $1.01 bn. EU sanctions on Russia led to an increased Colombian coal demand from Europe.
