Colombia: Cerrejon coal mine workers block rail line, disrupt supplies

Colombia’s Cerrejon coal mine, owned by Glencore, said that its former workers have been blocking key rail line hampering export facility. The blockades on rail and road are by employees demanding to get back their jobs which they lost 20 months back. Notably, Colombia is one of the major coal export countries that produced 53.5 mnt of coal in 2021.
