Colombia: Bulk coal, coke shipments rise m-o-m in Mar’26; Q1 exports hit by weak buying

Colombia’s bulk coal and coke exports rose 28% m-o-m to 3.93 mnt in Mar’26 but dropped 22% y-o-y from 5.05 mnt in Mar’25. Shipments to the Netherlands rebounded to 0.67 mnt from nil in Feb’26 while to Brazil increased 30% to 0.6 mnt and to Chile surged 193% to 0.4 mnt. Q-o-q, exports in Jan-Mar’26 declined 28% to 9.56 mnt, reflecting weaker buying interest and ample inventories at destination countries.
