Coking Coal imports into India during Nov’16 were lower by around 11.9% in comparison with that in Oct’16. The lower imports during the month were due to high prices of Coking Coal in the key international markets.
According to data compiled by CoalMint Research, around 3.55 MnT of Coking Coal was imported into India in Nov’16. The imports during the previous month were higher at around 4.03 MnT, CoalMint research also shows.

Conforming to the usual trend, Coking Coal imports from Australia during the month under consideration were the highest in the total share of imports from the regions involved; followed by that from Russia.

Among the various ports in India, the Dhamra port had handled the highest volume of import traffic during Nov’16; while; the Paradip and Mormugao ports had followed.
