Coal exports from Colombia’s Drummond mine to Chile have touched a multi-year high of 0.62 mn t in May’21 amid supply concerns in Chile and force majeure at the competitor Cerrejon mine. Drummond’s total coal shipments touched 2.89 mn t last month, while 14.1 mn t of shipments were recorded during Jan-May’21. The miner is expected to produce 32-33 mn t of coal in 2021 to meet rising demand from China.
