>>The National Development and Reform Commission of China will send inspection teams to coal producing regions and ports in that country during the winter season to check malicious hoarding and price monopoly in order to ensure stable coal prices during the peak demand in winter. Coal price levels and stockpile changes will be monitored closely, the commission said.
>> Global mining major, Vale, has achieved a coal production of 3,213 MT in Q3 2017, which was higher by 5.8% over the production of 3,037 MT in Q2 2017. On year-on-year comparison, the production in the third quarter of the current year was higher by 83% over the production of 1,756 MT in the same quarter of 2016. During the first nine months of 2017, the company produced 8,684 MT of coal.
>>Korea Southern Power Company Limited has purchased 240,000 MT of coal for loading in between Jan’18 and Mar’18 via a tender that closed yesterday. According to the inputs received, the company declined to buy another 80,000 MT of coal due to high prices.
