Kerwa Coal Limited to Sale 25% Coal Production to MSMEs

The Madhya Pradesh State Mining Corporation (MPSMC) and Chhattisgarh State Mineral Development Corporation(CMDC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of India to allocate 25% of the coal mined by Kerwa Coal Limited—a subsidiary of MPSMC and CMDC—to the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in both the states.

Several Coal Mines in Shanxi to Halt Production

The Provincial Administration of Coal Mine Safety of China has ordered the coal mines,at Shanxi in North China , without adequate safety measures or without safe production licenses to halt production. This means that prices of Coking Coal, and hence Met Coke, will rise further.

South Korean Power Utility Imports Coal from Indonesia

South Korean power utility, Korea Southern Power Company Limited, has bought 0.24 MnT of low calorific value coal from Indonesia. The company will also import 0.32 MnT during the Oct-Dec’17 period.
