CIL missed its production target by 10% for the month, produced 40 MnT against targeted 44.48 MnT in Apr’16.
India’s most prominent coal miner, CIL has produced 40 MnT of coal in the first month of the fiscal. Shockingly, amidst centre’s increased production target and other efforts, the company missed its production target by 10% for the month.

The state-owned miner registered a fall in production by 3.4% on yearly premises and 32% on monthly basis. CIL produced 59 MnT of coal in Mar’16.
Subsidiary astute coal production
None among the eight subsidiaries were able to accomplish their production target for the month. However, NCL was very close in achieving its production target and produced 6.6 MnT of coal against targeted 6.7 MnT.

It is to be noted that CIL has declared the target of yearly coal generation, which has set to 598.6 MnT for FY17. The target set by Coal India is 49 MnT higher than last monetary. The given target has altered by the service on the premise of coal accessibility of CIL, relating with quantity conferred for Thermal Power Plants in FSA (Fuel Supply Agreement).
