Coal India Accomplishes 98% of Production Target

The company has produced 477 MnT in the initial 11 months of FY16. The coal generation in the month moved up by 6.3% against Feb’15.

India’s biggest coal miner, CIL has produced 51 MnT of coal in Feb’16. The company’s coal production surged by around 6.3% Y-o-Y. However, it has missed its product target.The production target set for CIL for Feb’16 was 52.01 MnT and the CIL produced 51.01 MnT for the month.
CIL has missed its production focus by 2% and its off-take focus by 3% for the month. It is to be noticed that CIL had produced 52.8 MnT of coal in Jan ’16, which fell by about 3% in Feb’16.

Subsidiary-wise coal production

Five subsidiaries among eight have surpassed their production target for the month.
BCCL and WCL were the performer of the month and accomplished their production target by 112% and 113%, individually. NCL,SECL and ECL were the other three different subsidiaries, which surpassed their production target.

Indian Coal Ministry, prior in the fiscal, declared that yearly coal demand for FY16 has grown up to 910 MnT. Government has arranged about 550 MnT of coal production from CIL and 150 MnT from SCCL including other captive blocks.
On the other side, Center has likewise arranged about 210 MnT coal from import by fuel starved segments, including both directed and non-regulated sectors.

As of now, Coal India has delivered 477 MnT of coal in the first 11 month of the financial year against focused 550 MnT for FY16.
