- Russian steelmaker – MMK Group reported that its hot-rolling mill 2500 produced 1.07 mn t of hot-rolled products in the first quarter of CY’21.
- This is the highest ever quarterly production for this unit since its inception. The previous record was made in CY’08 when the Mill 2500 produced over 1 mn t of hot-rolled products in a quarter.
- The significant increase in the production figures was the result of comprehensive reconstruction of the mill, completed last year.
- The revamped hot-rolling mill 2500 has a production capacity of 5.2 mn t rolled metal per year and is one of the most-modern and highly productive mills in the world.
