CIS and Turkish billet prices remain steady

Billet prices from the CIS and Turkey have held steady for a
second consecutive week on a slowdown in buying activities.

“I haven't heard of any billet deals this week. The last
deal I heard was at $680 CFR”, said a Dubai-based trader said.

A cargo of CIS billet has been sold at $605-620/MT FOB Black
Sea for October production to entice Middle East-based consumers. However,
buying activities for billet have slowed down in the Middle East due to high
import prices from CIS and Turkish suppliers and sluggish end-user demand for
rebar.
