Coal India Limited (CIL) will soon begin auction of coal linkages to the sponge iron consumers in India in accordance to a schedule, to be released tomorrow.
Acting on the directive of the Coal Ministry to conduct auction of coal linkages to the non-regulated sector, CIL has decided to begin the auction with the sponge iron consumers. The non-regulated sector comprises mainly of cement, iron and aluminum apart from sponge iron. The directive of the ministry is aimed at providing adequate fuel supply to the end-users in a transparent manner.
Subsequent to the auction for the sponge iron industry, CIL will conduct such auctions for the other non-regulated consumers.
Requisite formalities for participating in the action will be available publicly on the website of MSTC Limited from today, the 26th May’16, onwards.
Besides, it is also learnt that 24 MnT of coal is being allotted for coal linkages this fiscal.
