The company has recorded growth of 6.8% in power sector and 8.8% in Non-power sector’s coal dispatch, as against 348.1 MnT and 94.8 MnT respectively during the same period last year.

As a result, the available coal stocks at the power plants have reached 15.385 MnT as on 15 Feb’18, as compared to 8.5 MnT on 30 Sep’17.

To boost supply to Thermal Power stations, CIL had asked the power plants located 50 km within the pit head coal mine to lift coal through roadways, so that the available rake from the circuit could be utilised to supply coal to the distant power stations.

Moreover, it was also decided to maximize supply to the pit head power stations through MGR route to ensure stock level of more than 21 days of normative stock especially in pit head power stations located in Northern Coalfields.

With a potential to increase coal production in peak period i.e. in January, February and March, CIL is determined to surpass previous fiscal’s coal production of 554.14 MnT. So far, the company has produced 440.62 MnT coal during Apr’17-Jan’18 period.

Since last one month, CIL has been reporting higher daily production than the daily dispatch, which was not the case earlier as the company was emphasising more on coal dispatch in order to liquidate excess coal stock present at the mines.
