Chinese Met Coke Exports Surge in July’16, Indicating Stronger Import Appetite in India

Met coke exports from China have increased significantly, and, understandably, the prime destination being India.

In July’16, 110 TMT was exported from that country, according to the data released by China Customs. The export quantity has not only surpassed the quantity in Jun’16, but also that during July’15.

In Jun’16, 76 TMT was exported that was lower by around 30% than that in July’16. Also, the export quantity of 73 TMT in July’15 was lower by around 33% than that in July’16.

Exhibiting a similar trend, Met coke exports from China during the Jan-July’16 period at 585 TMT also surpassed that of 528 TMT in the corresponding month of the previous year by around 9%.
