Chinese Imports of chrome ore increased by 48 % in May’16 in comparison to Apr’16.
Chinese chrome ore imports increased by 47.5% in May’16 and stood at 902,868 MT. In Apr’16, chrome ore imports was recorded at 610,000 MT. China chrome imports in the first five months of 2016 is recorded at 3.6 MnT.
In the previous year during the same month, i.e. May’15, total Chinese chrome ore import was 870,000 MT and the total imports in 2015 was 10.4 MnT.
Chinese chrome ore imports are mainly from South Africa. The total import from South Africa in May’16 was 707,580 MT ; followed by 48,180 MT from India ; 37,446 MT from Pakistan and 33,377 MT from Turkey.
