Today the billet prices in the Tangshan market (northeast China) have seen a significant rise of RMB 110 ($17) against last week’s closing. The billet transactions were weak, while finished steel prices remained up. The prices of commonly traded Q235 billet 150mm diameter were reported at RMB 4,250/t ($657.6/t) in Tangshan, including 13 % VAT. Production curbs in northern China have also resulted in billet price hikes.
