Billet: Yesterday, the ex-factory price of general carbon square billet in Tangshan, Changli and Qian’an was settled at RMB 3,300/MT, down RMB 10; today in the morning session, Changli area took the lead to hike RMB 20 to RMB 3,320/MT. Transactions on billet after the upswing was moderate while price of finished steel mainly remain stable though individual resources marked up. Mill direct sales are smooth. The ex-warehouse spot price is offered at around RMB 3,400-3,410/MT tax-included with some transactions on low cost resources. The billet inventory at warehouses of Xianggu Zhengfeng and Haiyi Hongrun is 147,600 MT, up 4,100 MT from previous day. The transactions on finished steel are generally smooth and it is expected that billet price in the afternoon may remain stable or go up.
