Chinese billet offers to Bangladesh have remained stable at USD 285/MT, CFR Chittagong. However, market participants mention that prices can be negotiated to USD 280/MT, CFR levels based on quantity.
Offers from Russia are assessed at USD 300/MT, CFR Chittagong. But, no deals have been heard to be concluded.
Last tender of 150*150 mm billet from India was concluded at USD 291/MT, FoB Indian East Coast. Participants confirmed that cargo will be shipped to Bangladesh at a price of around USD 305/MT, CFR Chittagong.
The local mills require about 4 MnT of billet annually. While, 1.5 MnT of billet is imported to fulfill the country’s demand.
