China’s crude steel production in Jan-Aug’21 increased by 5% to 733.02 million tonnes (mn t). Hebei province become the largest crude steel producing province with 157.81 mn t, down by 6% y-o-y. Jiangsu province is the second-largest crude steel producing province with 83.45 mn t, up 6% y-o-y followed by Shandong province which is in third place with 56.46 mn t, up 7% y-o-y. It is to be noted that China’s crude steel production in CY’20 was 1,053 mn t.
