China’s region-wise steel exports for the first seven months of 2024, showcasing varying trends across different regions. Despite an overall positive trajectory in the earlier months of the year, the data indicates a gradual slowdown in the pace of China’s steel exports. Initially, from January to February, there was a notable 30% increase, followed by a 28% rise in the first quarter of the year. However, this growth trajectory showed a gradual decrease over subsequent periods, with figures showing a 25% increase in January to April, slowing to 23% in the first five months, and further down to 22% by the halfway point of the year, highlighting a diminishing momentum in China’s steel export volumes.
