China’s power capacity increases by 8% y-o-y in CY’22

China’s power producing capacity has recorded a rise of 7.8% in CY’22 to 2.56 TW, as per the National Energy Administration. Installed capacity of wind power increased by 11.1% to 0.37 TW and solar power capacity rose by 28.1% to 0.39 TW. However, in CY’22, for generating units of capacity above 6000KW, the utilisation was curtailed to 3,687 hours, which is 125 hours lesser than the previous year.
