China’s long steel production falls y-o-y in CY’22

China’s long steel production fell in CY’22 compared to the previous year, as per National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) data.

• Rebar production decreased by 8.1% y-o-y to 237.62 mnt.
• Wire rod output stood at 141.36 mnt, down 8.2% y-o-y.

In Dec’22, China’s rebar and wire rod output dropped by 4.4% and 12.3% y-o-y to 19.5 mnt and 11.04 mnt respectively compared to Dec’21.
