China’s crude steel output increases by 15% y-o-y basis to 97.85 mn t in Apr ’21 as against 85.03 mn t in the same period last year, according to the data released by National Bureau of Statistics today. Despite Chinese govt. enhanced efforts to control carbon emission of the nation by cutting production, rising steel prices, higher profit margins along with robust demand has boosted mills’ appetite for production. While, on a monthly basis, the output surged by 4% as against 94.02 mn t in Mar ’21.
