China’s crude steel output rises by 13% in the first two months (Jan-Feb ’21) to 174.99 mn t in contrast with 155 mn t produced in the same period last year, SteelMint learned from the data released by National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) today. The increase in production was supported by robust downstream demand from the construction and manufacturing sectors. However, the Chinese government has announced production curbs to cut output and to reduce carbon emissions in the near term.
