China’s coking coal imports from Russia rise 20%, m-o-m, in April

China coking coal imports from Russia in Apr’22 stood at 1.71 mnt, up by 20% m-o-m and a whopping 125% y-o-y. This is fourth consecutive monthly increase in imports from Russia. Imports increased due to the highly discounted prices offered by Russia after its coal exports were hit by sanctions imposed by Japan and the European Union.
