Coking coal import to China plunged down extensively against going before month. Due to Chinese government’s significant endeavors, import figures were low. Import from Australia slumped by about 24% M-o-M.
China, which is recognized as the largest coking coal importer globally, is continuously curbing its import. The efforts are clearly visible in import figures. The import quantity decreased by about 0.9 MnT against the preceding month.
By most recent information discharged by China’s Customs, the nation had imported 3.3 MnT of coking coal in Jan’16, reporting a drop of about 24% on a monthly premise and 16% on yearly basis.

On the contrary, in the midst of constant mounting generation of CIL, Indian steel producers imported lion’s share of coking coal. The purpose for the same is that less share of coking coal from Indian coal holds and absence of craved quality required for creating coke of prime quality required in steel generation.
India, perceived amongst the biggest coking coal shipper comprehensively, had imported 4.2 MnT of coking coal in Jan’16. It is to be noted the quantity is 0.9 MnT more than China.
