China’s coal imports rise over 70% y-o-y in Jan-Feb’23

China’s coal imports in Jan-Feb’23 surged 71% y-o-y to 60.64 mnt. The country recorded lower coal imports a year ago amid COVID-related restrictions. In contrast, this year imports rose in anticipation of a rise in demand as the country has abandoned its zero-COVID policies.
