China’s coal consumption is expected to peak at 4.08 bnt by 2024, China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation said in its China Energy Outlook 2060 conference. Power generation coal use may maximise in around 2025, while chemical coal use may peak around 2030. The country’s coal consumption is expected to drop during 2025-2030 and may fall to about 3.87 bnt by 2030.
