China’s Zhongshan Baohua Steel Rolling Mill has issued a notification regarding the implementation of theoretical weight delivery for reinforcement steel bars, or rebars, used in construction projects.
In order to “build a unified national market”, promote the construction steel market in the Guangdong Province, and to upgrade the iron and steel industry in the Province, the Guangdong Iron and Steel Association and its member units have decided to implement the theoretical weight delivery for rebar in the Province from 1 December, 2022.
Zhongshan Baohua Steel Rolling Mill has responded to the call of the Association to implement the theoretical weight delivery for rebar. The company will implement it for different rebar varieties from 1 December.
The price conversion pattern will follow the relevant standards laid down by the “Implementation Plan for Implementing the Delivery of Rebar Theoretical Weight in Guangdong Province”. So, the theoretical price will fluctuate by RMB 120/t ($17) on the basis of the pound metre price.
The company has requested all its customers to make relevant preparations for the conversion of weighing methods in advance.
