China: Tsingshan, TISCO cut ferro chrome tender prices by RMB 200/t ($30/t) for Nov’26

  • Weak demand and ample supply pressure prices
  • Higher domestic output reduces import demand

China’s leading stainless steel producers, Tsingshan and TISCO , have reduced their November 2026 high-carbon ferro chrome tender prices by RMB 200/t ($30/t) m-o-m on a 50% Cr basis. Tsigshan has set its procurement price at RMB 7,595/t ($1,137/t), while TISCO’s tender price stands at RMB 7,395/t ($1,107/t), DAP, including taxes.

The latest tender price cuts come amid weak domestic ferro chrome market sentiment, with increased Chinese production reducing the need for imports and adding to downward price pressure. Lower steel mill procurement bids, cautious buying and elevated inventories have continued to weigh on demand, while reduced stainless steel production and sluggish spot transactions have limited market activity.

Additionally, softer chrome ore and coking coal prices have weakened raw material cost support, while high port inventories and limited overseas market momentum have further pressured prices. Buyers continue to restrict purchases to immediate requirements amid weak seasonal demand and elevated stainless steel inventories, keeping market sentiment subdued despite production cuts at some mills.

With ample supply, weak demand and softer raw material costs continuing to weigh on the market, ferro chrome prices are likely to remain under pressure, although elevated smelting costs and further production cuts may limit the downside.
