China’s Tsingshan Group has dialled down the purchase price of high carbon (HC) ferro chrome for Sept’21 to RMB 9,995/t ($1,543/t) for HC 50% grade on a delivered basis, including tax, down by RMB 800/t ($124/t) from Aug. This is despite rising chrome ore and met coke prices in China. However, it is expected to further increase the pressure on Indian ferro chrome smelters to reduce prices.
