As on 10 Aug’21, China’s power plants had received 7.4 mn t of coal deliveries, reaching a new high and up 9% t from the preceding normal level whereas coal consumption was recorded at 7.2 mn t, correcting by 4% from the peak figure. The daily output of coal in Shanxi, Shaanxi and Inner-Mongolia provinces registered an increase of about 0.8 mn t m-o-m as on 10 Aug. With China’s peak summer season nearing its end, state planner NDRC expects coal demand to decrease gradually, while coal output is expected to rise with the successive release of production capacity.
