Thermal coal prices in China continue to remain stagnant as 5500 kcal/kg NAR coal prices on the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange are at RMB 805/t ($126/t), largely unchanged w-o-w. Traders expect coal prices to edge lower going ahead as several utilities have cut their procurement drastically amid lockdowns. Increased availability of domestic coal is also expected to keep prices within a reasonable range.
