China: Tangshan tightens pollution control measures, output curbs

Local authorities in China’s key steel hub of Tangshan have imposed grade-2 emergency response from 19 Dec’21 to control air pollution in the city.

• 126 independent rolling mills, four independent pellet plants, and other related units have been asked to cut production.
• Ferro alloy plants and foundry casting units will also have to cut output.
• Mining companies must stop operations and transport activities.
