China’s raw coal output was up by 10% y-o-y to 1.08 bnt in Jan-Mar’22, reports citing data from National Bureau of Statistics said. On a quarterly basis, it fell by 3% as strict lockdwon restriction disrupted output and transportation. Coke output in the country also fell by 5% y-o-y to 115.1 mnt. Top economic planners, NDRC continues to force miners to increase coal output in a bid to ensure sufficient coal supply at power plants ahead of the summer season.
