China: Steel mills accept second round of price hike in coke

Steel mills in China have accepted the second round of coke price hike of RMB 200/t ($30/t) proposed by met coke producers. The revised prices will be effective from 16 Aug’22. This is second hike in a week’s time after five rounds of price cuts in Jun-Jul’22 totalling RMB 1,100/t ($162/t). Met coke prices in Tangshan stood at RMB 2,600/t ($383/t) on 15 Aug.
