China: Steel inventory drops 4%, w-o-w, to 8.72 mn t

China’s steel inventory totalled 8.72 mn t on 17 Dec’21, a decline of 4% compared to 9.08 mn t a week ago, according to Lange Steel data.

• Steel sheet stocks stood at 4.39 mn t this week (starting 13 Dec’21), down by 3% against 4.53 mn t a week ago.
• Construction steel inventory dipped 5% to 4.33 mn t on the week compared to 4.55 mn t a week ago.
